Craftsmanship in Apartment W

Apartment W
FACTS:
Architect: STUDIO BERND OBERWINKLER Location: Vienna Photo: Sara Sera
Apartment W was created by combining two units in a Viennese Gründerzeit building and was renovated and redesigned by Studio Bernd Oberwinkler. The architect crafted spaces for both communal and individual living. Materials such as oak wood, clay, natural stone, leather, wool, and aluminum harmonize with each other, balancing warmth and coolness, gloss and matte finishes. In the kitchen, stainless steel fronts, an island, and an oak bench with leather upholstery provide comfort. Floor-to-ceiling oak walls offer storage space and cleverly conceal the bathroom and dressing area. A highlight here is the tall oak door, which serves as both a room divider and a closet door. In the living room, a bookshelf and an integrated desk complement the design. The overall aesthetic conveys tranquility and warmth.
The joy of detail and the sense of aesthetics make a good craftsman. That's why our workshop is very meticulous. This starts with the selection of the woods and ends with the final polish. A great feeling when you can be really proud of your work.
